Representation

The demographics of my music magazine are: female, 15-21, middle class who are in school, studying or in work. I find that the clothes my model is wearing demonstrates this as they are normal clothes from high street shops. As for psychographics, my model would fall into the sub-cultural identity of a indie girl.
I think my magazine has a pro-consumerist stance as she is demonstrating the stereotypical indie girl, being fashionable and having fun. My music magazine would attract advertisements for gigs, CD's, make-up and clothes.
In both images, either model is not making any gestures which make them very similar in pose and their heads are both tilted to the side. In my image, the angle I used bears some similarity to the magazine cover as it is at the same level and straight to the camera with a subjective gaze. This image of my model is shot from the chest up and focuses on the face which is similar to Isla which is also shot from the chest up. In terms of costume my model is different to Isla as it is a bit plain compared to the cover as both images are to attract different target audiences especially in age and social class. I find that the clothes my model is wearing helps the demographics and psychographics as they are normal clothes from high street shops. The expression on my model's face is similar to Isla's as she is looking into the camera and their mouths are closed but I find that Isla is trying a bit more to lure readers in and my model is more serious. I find that my model has similar hair to Isla because it is wavy but I don't think that the colour is so similar as I find my model has more of darker hair colour which is different to red-headed Isla. In terms of age, these are very different as Allure is attracting a different target audience to my magazine which is for teenagers but both are to female readers. I think that both images are trying to lure all female readers whether they are a different race to the models in the images but the social classes are very dissimilar as women are put in classes depending on the income unlike teenagers who are not put into classes.
